OD Fee: $60
CE Hours: 2
This advanced course focuses on enhancing scleral lens fitting by addressing three critical zones: the optic, corneal periphery, and limbal regions. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of scleral lens design, including prolate and oblate optics, limbal clearance challenges, and peripheral landing zone customization. Emphasis will be placed on managing lens decentration, minimizing complications such as limbal touch, congestion, and midday fogging, and improving visual outcomes through technologies like wavefront-guided optics. Attendees will also learn how to interpret clinical imaging, including OCT and slit lamp observations, to refine fit and improve patient comfort, ocular health, and visual acuity.
