404: Amniotic Membrane Workshop

Amniotic membranes are therapeutic contact lenses used in the optometric setting to manage acute and chronic corneal and anterior segment disease. They are an effective treatment in management of dry eye, ocular infections and inflammation. This workshop will discuss the indications for these therapeutic lenses as well as treatment and follow up for the care of the patient.

Both dehydrate and cryo-preserved membranes will be presented. Participants will have hands on experience applying and removing both of the membranes. Additionally, discussion of clinical insights on management of patients throughout the procedure and follow up care will be presented during the lecture and hands on workshop.
